Our Story In 2013, Alchemy Logic Systems Inc. dba RateFast began its mission to bring standardization, accuracy, transparency, and accessibility to the industrial injury marketplace. Initially, RateFast focused on developing the RateFast report writing a platform—a tool for medical providers to write better impairment rating reports in California. Within several years, RateFast began providing services directly to stakeholders, including insurance carriers, attorneys, the department of social security, and the federal Department of Labor. RateFast services expanded to include impairment reports for all versions of the AMA Guides, prospective impairment reports including report support formatting for medical providers, and retrospective report analysis for employers and insurance. RateFast provides impairment report support for major medical providers throughout California and beyond. We have also supported insurance carriers including Broadspire, Sedgwick, Walmart, Travelers, Alaska National, Zurich, SCIF, and Church Mutual for fast accurate claim settlement. RateFast’s intellectual property filings include tools to assess workers’ compensation claim data quality and integrity, culminating in the Injury Mapping service. RateFast has conducted university level research in clinical practice related to physics and biomechanics. Since 2015, RateFast has presented for multiple consecutive years for the American Physical Society. RateFast also supports educational development for the California Medial Unit and the Qualified Medical Examiners continuing education. Who We Are John Alchemy, MD, QME CEO, Founder As a Qualified Medical Examiner with 20 years of experience treating injured workers, Dr. John Alchemy knows the amount of time and effort that it takes for occupational medicine doctors to do their jobs. Dr. Alchemy designed RateFast to guide users through every step of the workers’ compensation process. Mike Bongiovanni VP – Software Development The former senior director of sales operations at International ERP Sales and a developer of business management applications at Sage Software, Mike is also the founder and principal of LMW Consulting, a software services firm that provides programming, installation, implementation, training and support services to customers across the United States. Jerry L. Artz, PhD Head of Research Dr. Jerry serves as our consultant for probability likelihood of clinical measurement outcomes, as well as reviewing scientific literature and mathematical modeling validity for impairment rating specialists. He has years of research experience, has published numerous articles, served on a congressional committee and been awarded multiple honors in his teaching career. He is currently a Professor in the Department of Physics at Hamline University in St. Paul Minnesota.
