How to Zip (Compress) Files on Windows and macOS

The RateFast Enterprise Form and RateFast Clinical Form both include file upload fields with a maximum limit of 20 files. If you need to submit more than 20 files for a single claim submission, you can zip (compress) the files into a single file, and then drop that into the upload field. Please follow the instructions below based on your operating system

Windows: How to Zip Files

Method 1: Right-Click (Easiest)

  1. Select the file(s) or folder(s)
  2. Right-click one of the selected items
  3. Click Send to → Compressed (zipped) folder
  4. A new .zip file will appear in the same location
  5. Rename it if needed

Method 2: Windows 11 Quick Menu

  1. Select file(s)
  2. Right-click and choose Compress to ZIP file
  3. The zip file will be created automatically

Method 3: Windows 10 Ribbon Menu

  1. Open File Explorer
  2. Select file(s)
  3. Click Share → Zip

Optional: Advanced Tools

You can use third-party tools for additional features:

  • 7-Zip
  • WinRAR

These provide stronger compression, more formats, and password protection.

macOS: How to Zip Files

Method 1: Right-Click (Finder)

  1. Select file(s) or folder(s)
  2. Right-click (or Control + click)
  3. Click Compress “filename” or Compress X items
  4. A .zip file will be created in the same folder

Method 2: Finder Menu

  1. Select your file(s)
  2. Click File → Compress in the top menu
